The Most Instagrammable Places at Lake Bled
Lake Bled is one of the most Instagrammable locations in Europe so it’s not hard to find great spots for your Instagram photos. The island in the middle of the lake (Bled Island) makes all your photos turn out as if they’re taken in a fairytale. The Bled Castle, which is located on top of a lakeside cliff, is another perfect backdrop for your Instagram photo. Read on to find out the best Instagram-worthy spots along the lake to create a dreamy Lake Bled feed.
Flowers at Bled town
In Bled town you can find a beautiful flower field close to the lake. There are walking paths through the field so you can take a photo standing between the flowers, without ruining them. You have to visit Lake Bled in the right season for the flowers to be blooming. By the end of the June, the field is filled with beautifully blooming roses. This flower field is the perfect spot for a pretty Instagram photo!
Bled lakeside
From the lakeside at Bled town, you have a perfect view of the lake and the Bled Castle. There are multiple spots around the lake where you can sit down and enjoy the view. I particularly loved this spot in the grass which is not too far away from the Bled Castle cliff. If you go here around sunset on a clear day, the sky will turn out beautiful. If you go on a calm morning, you might be able to catch the reflection of Bled Castle in the lake. There’s a chance you’ll be able to snap some ducks swimming around in your photo at any time of day!
Hike to Mala Osojnica
The viewpoint of Mala Osojnica is a relatively easy hike, despite it being steep. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the viewpoint from the trail’s starting point. The viewpoint is especially beautiful during sunrise, which I can wholeheartedly recommend. Going there for sunrise means you have to hike up the hill in the dark, but it will be worth it. Jetties
You can find multiple jetties around the lake that are beautiful to take photos from. There are plenty at the rowing center at the south side of the lake, but I particularly loved this one close to the camping site. If you sit down on the jetty, you have a perfect angle of you and Bled Island. This is also a beautiful spot during sunrise. If you find yourself there on a calm morning, you might be able to capture a beautiful reflection of the island in the lake as well. The morning I went there, it was a bit too windy, but the photo turned out dreamy regardless.
Wooden walking trail
Somewhere at the southwestern side of the lake, you can take the stairs down to a wooden walkway along the lakeshore. This path offers a perfectly unobstructed view of Bled Island and is a beautiful and peaceful scene. You can sit on the edge of the walkway to include yourself in the photo or just take a photo of the beautiful view.
More beautiful spots along the lake
Walking along the lake you will find a lot of openings in the trees that are perfect photo spots. Especially when walking from the camping on the south side of the lake to the village of Mlino, you’ll come across a few of these places. All these spots capture Bled Island in the background. If the weather is nice, you can go into the water as well to create a different view of your photo.
Lilies
Walking further towards the village of Mlino, you’ll stumble upon a spot with lots of lilies in the water. The lilies weren’t completely open when I was there, but you could still spot the pink shade of the water flowers.
